Even though I don’t like showing videos made by people who hide their true identity, I am adding this video because it brings out some good points. I have only one problem: As usual, it seems that Mark’s name is rarely mentioned in these commentaries. It’s as if people don’t realize that he was also a leader who was murdered. It just goes to show that either there has been a deliberate attempt by the media to leave Mark out of the story, or, people really just don’t know his significance.
That is exactly why I wrote the book,” Mark Clark: Soul of a Black Panther.” I wanted others to know who Mark was and why he went to Chicago on December4, 1969. But during my research for the book, I uncovered a whole lot more than I expected. There were numerous FBI informants in the Chicago chapter, not just one: Numerous!
In regards to the commentator stating that the BPP were Communist, that is true. The BPP embraced Communism under the Marxist philosophy because it offered free healthcare and free education to all of it’s citizens. The BPP did not agree with Capitalism, which is the form of government that we are under here in America. They believed that we could never have social justice as long as we had Capitalism because the way Capitalism is run, the 1% at the top maintains their wealth by keeping others at the bottom. In full transparency, all forms of government have their pros and cons.
As I celebrate the memory of my dear brother Mark, it’s important that people know what he gave his life for. Mark fully believed in the mission of the BPP, which was to liberate all oppressed people. Unlike the leaders who ran or were “conveniently” missing in action, Mark stood with Fred and laid down his life. That at least deserves an honorable mention.
Peace,
Gloria Clark Jackson
