A QUESTION HAS BEEN RAISED BY FRED HAMPTON JR: IS THE NEWLY FORMED ORGANIZATION CALLED THE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY OF THE ILLINOIS CHAPTER OF THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY, PRESERVING THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY HISTORY; OR ARE THEY TRYING TO RE-WRITE IT?

Before showing this clip, I want to be very transparent on my views: I have declined to join in with the THE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY OF THE ILLINOIS CHAPTER OF THE BPP, mainly because they are run by the State of Illinois: It was the State of Illinois under State’s Attorney EDWARD V. HANRAHAN who orchestrated the death squad that murdered Defense Captain Mark Clark and Chairman Fred Hampton Sr.

To me, joining with the newly formed organization would be a blatant contradiction to the legacy of what Defense Captain Mark Clark and Chairman Fred Hampton died for, to now have the State of Illinois be the ones who are controlling the Illinois BPP’s history through the newly formed Historical Preservation Society of the Illinois Chapter of the BPP.
